🚫 Today is not a day of "Thanks" for many people. It is an iconic day of pain, broken promises, broken dreams, and systemic violence.
✏️ We must never forget the lives destroyed, lands stolen, and generational erasure of entire cultures.
Instead:
🙏🏽 Acknowledge the Indigenous Peoples whose land you live on and support campaigns to honor treaty rights and redistribute land and resources.
🍲 Consider hosting "Community Table Feasts" as an alternative to the colonial holiday and invite your neighbors and community, in addition to family.
🦃 Skip the turkey and bring a dish to share that is unique to your culture, region, or tradition.
📢 Follow Indigenous leadership in climate, land stewardship, and food sovereignty work.
Let this not be a moment of recognition but a commitment to Restoration, Return, and Relational Accountability.
