*Currently BETA Testing

The Virtual Escape Room Course: Community Health Challenge is designed specifically for Nursing Students to integrate epidemiological thinking with problem-solving skills critical for community health nursing.

The core exercise involves investigating an outbreak using 10 detailed case reports that progress over five days.

Students will:

1) Perform Disease Surveillance Data Analysis by organizing raw surveillance data (including timestamps, demographics, and exposure histories) chronologically to identify patterns

2) Construct an Epidemic Curve by symptom onset revealing a point-source pattern

3) Use their findings to recommend specific Containment Strategy Development, such as isolation protocols and environmental interventions, and apply prevention principles (primary, secondary, and tertiary).

The scenario includes red herrings and time pressure to simulate real-world investigation complexity and incorporates broader community health themes into the escape room structure, such as Social Determinants of Health and Cultural Competence, reinforcing skills essential for community health nursing practice.
